Ken,

I'm from Texas where we talk slow.  One of my majors in college was Journalism, Broadcast & Film (JBF).  When I would pull in a willing volunteer(s) for a TV/film shoot who was not from Texas, it often took 3-4 takes to get them to slow their speaking to video/film rate.  I speak the King's English up here in Virginia, but I still have my Texas dialect on-file in my head so folks can understand me when I go home.

Barbara,

Your quote reminds me of an old Texas saying: "A big-shot is just a little-shot who kept on shooting."
